Ferry Terminal Petition

The new ferry terminal proposal is a “Design Disaster.”

Riders deserve better.

New Orleanians want to see a new Canal Street ferry terminal that works better for riders. The current replacement terminal design doesn’t.

  • It lacks a foot bridge over the freight tracks. Transit riders could be stuck behind a train and miss their connection, and they will have to cross busy, dangerous train tracks.
  • It lacks covered areas between the ferry and the terminal, so riders will be at the mercy of torrential downpours or the broiling sun for large parts of the year

Transit riders deserve better and need to see an improved design now.

As a transit rider and New Orleans resident, I ask city officials to commit to an improved ferry terminal design today that maintains the existing standard of accessibility and shelter from the elements.
