The new ferry terminal proposal is a “Design Disaster" for ferry riders.
Join transit advocates, ferry riders, and supporting organizations and officials on March 22nd at 4 p.m. to send a message that transit rider needs must come first when the city designs transit infrastructure!
The current replacement terminal design fails in two big ways:
- It lacks a foot bridge over the freight tracks. Transit riders could be stuck behind a train and miss their connection, and they will have to cross busy, dangerous train tracks.
- It lacks covered areas between the ferry and the terminal, so riders will be at the mercy of torrential downpours or the broiling sun for large parts of the year.
There's still time to change this design - but we need to send a strong message to city and RTA officials that losing amenities and features that make taking transit easier is unacceptable.
