RTA Community Workshops

We’re entering the final months of the RTA’s strategic mobility planning process. Starting in September, the community will have a chance to weigh in on the specific strategies that will drive New Orleans transit in the coming years.

The first opportunity is a series of community workshops from September 11 to September 14. At these workshops, RTA representatives will present different scenarios of future transit improvements and ask participants to pick their priorities. They will also ask attendees to weigh in on what corridors (i.e Broad Street, Canal Street, General DeGaulle, etc.) should be considered priority areas for transit investment. The scenarios will be based on community feedback gathered earlier in the year and from the RTA’s analysis of where people need to go and where the biggest demand for transit is.

See the schedule of meetings below. You won't need to stay for the whole time - it should only take approximately 30 minutes.

Unfortunately not, though we’re pleased the CBD meetings will take place across the street from the main transfer area for the entire RTA system. That will make it easier for more transit riders to attend from other neighborhoods.

We’ll be pushing for more meetings in the next round of outreach and would love to hear your thoughts on existing community meetings or venues that might work in your neighborhood.
