Greater New Orleans Inc.

1100 Poydras Street, #3475 (Boardroom)

8:00am - 9:30am

(breakfast served between 8:00am - 8:30am)

About the Report: In this report, RIDE New Orleans examines transit funding for operations in the context of the public transit services in Greater New Orleans. RIDE believes it is urgent to examine transit funding in several related contexts. The RTA and Jefferson Transit face long-term budget shortfalls that threaten their ability to continue delivering service.

Our aim with this report is twofold. Firstly, we aim to offer policy guidance to support funding that ensures the financial sustainability of existing transit services in light of declining ridership and the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic. Secondly, we offer this guidance to support the RTA and Jefferson Parish’s objectives to expand transit services.

Thank you to our sponsors: The Conrad Hilton Foundation, TransitCenter, Hancock Whitney Bank, New Orleans & Company, Trepwise, and the Greater New Orleans Hotel and Lodging Association
